Fees and Rebates
This page outlines current fees for therapy and assessments, available rebates, and our cancellation policy. Please send an enquiry to discuss your situation and for a full list of assessment fees.
Therapy Fees
Standard sessions, whether in-person or via telehealth, are $210 per 50-minute session.
Rebates
Medicare Rebate
If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, or referral from a psychiatrist or paediatrician, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per therapy session for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. For more information about rebates and obtaining the Mental Health Care Plan, see FAQs.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance with extras cover for psychology, you may be able to claim a rebate for therapy. Please check with your insurer to confirm eligibility and amount.
NDIS Participants
Sessions for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants are charged at current NDIS rates.
Reduced-Fee Sessions
A limited number of sessions are available at a reduced rate of $175 for those on lower incomes. These sessions are offered via Telehealth to provide convenient access regardless of location. Please get in touch to check eligibility and availability.
Rebates for Assessments
-
Medicare rebates generally do not apply to psychological assessments.
-
Some private health insurers may provide a rebate. Please check with your provider.
-
Individuals under 25 may be eligible for up to 8 rebated assessment sessions if referred by a psychiatrist or paediatrician for a complex neurodevelopmental assessment.
Cancellation Policy
Please provide at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the appointment, or non-attendance without notice, will be charged the full session fee. You can cancel an appointment by emailing admin@tarapsychology.com.au.
Appointment times are set aside specifically for each client. Late cancellations and missed sessions without adequate notice can prevent others from accessing support. Your consideration helps ensure that time and care remain available to those who need it.
Please note:
-
Medicare and private health insurance do not cover cancelled or missed appointments.
-
Cancellations for assessment packages may have different terms.
